Introduction and Purpose
Because of my desire to improve the delivery of Oracle/Hyperion products, I have decided to create a delivery model for key aspects of what implementation partners and customers need to understand when building out PBCS and EPBCS applications.
When I hear people say that PBCS, Hyperion Planning, or Essbase are poor products, I know that one of two things happened:
- The wrong tool was used to solve the problem.
- The implementation team lacked the knowledge needed to execute the project.
A growing number of businesses employ resources at a lower cost to maximize profit. Unfortunately, this minimizes their number of knowledgeable resources. They lack an understanding of the technology to design and construct necessary applications. They often have no idea how to build a budget or understand the challenges of finance and accounting.
Understanding the technology to design and construct these applications is vital to a company’s success. From developers to leads to architects, if they do not understand the product, they cannot use it effectively and the company suffers.
I cannot fix the first problem, but I am determined to fix the second. Over the next several years, I will be releasing training classes to improve in the following areas:
- Application design and architecture
- Technical understanding of key aspects of the product
- Improvement of the implementation lifecycle and reduction of ongoing maintenance of these applications
Session Roadmap
The following sessions are or will soon be available. Sessions range from focused topics to longer term growth opportunities. If you have interests outside of these topics, please contact me and request additional sessions.
Take the free sample training covering two methods to get an idea of how the classes are constructed.
